South Africa’s Women in Wine

I met with South Africa’s “Women in Wine” recently . From their flyer: Women in Wine was established by a group of women from the Cape, inspired by quality wines and the empowerment of women, specifically women farm workers”

A very interesting concept. My two favourite wines were:

Chardonnay 2010: Very clean with soft dried fruit, 13.5% abv provides a slight heat spice, lots of ripe apple characters and textured like apple juice. Noticable lime on the finish.

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2008: Very intense with lots of deep cassis, juice from beef, pepper, oak, bread, bitter lemon, quite complex. A great food wine with ripe tannin structure.
